Catherine Pulupa



Catherine Pulupa is a testing assessment researcher. She recently joined SLTI in July 2008 as a marker for the Pearson Test of English and will be working on further test development projects, focusing on the testing of English language learners.

Ms. Pulupa has worked as a substitute in Montgomery County Public Schools and currently teaches adult ESOL classes with the Spanish Catholic Center in Gaithersburg. She has tutored Spanish and served as a translator at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.

In 2007, Ms. Pulupa completed a double BA at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she studied Modern Languages and Linguistics and Ancient Studies. Her areas of focus were sociolinguistics and classical Greek. In the course of these studies, she spent a semester at the University of Salamanca, Spain, enrolled in classes in the department of Philology to further her linguistic and Spanish skills.
