Lakisha Dockett Lakisha
Dockett began working with SLTI in May 2008 marking item responses for a
high-stakes English language test developed by Pearson Language
Assessments. She joined SLTI in July 2008 to review items for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and is currently engaged in test research evaluating supervisor and marker training of a Pearson test of English. Lakisha Dockett has a B.S. in English Education from New York University and an M.A. in English with a concentration in Linguistics and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from George Mason University. Ms. Dockett taught high school English in New York City public schools before moving to Maryland and teaching English as a Second Language to adults. During graduate study, Lakisha Dockett’s primary area of research interest was in second language phonology. She contributed 75 phonetic transcriptions and collaborated on 75 more transcriptions noting phonological processes of non-native and native speakers of English reading the same English paragraph for Dr. Steven Weinberger’s Speech Accent Archive online. |
