Ms. (Maria) Paula Diamanti is a native of Argentina and a trilingual native speaker of Spanish, German, and English. She is the Bilingual Content Specialist at SLTI. Ms. Diamanti manages and oversees test translation and adaptation projects as well as translation verification reviews. She has also been involved in linguistic simplification projects.
In May 2007, Ms. Diamanti participated in a two-day linguistic simplification workgroup conducted at the WestEd location in San Francisco, California. During these two days, the workgroup linguistically modified a variety of math items taken from previously administered NAEP and California Assessments. The workgroup's decisions and explanations of the modifications were recorded and used to develop a comprehensive guide of Assessment Accommodations for English Language Learners. Furthermore, Ms. Diamanti was part of the team responsible for linguistically simplifying Reading, Math, and Science test items for NAEP during 2007. Ms. Diamanti holds BA degrees in Spanish Language and Literature, and in German Language and Literature, and a MA degree in Second Language Acquisition and Application from the University of Maryland.
